*화물열차(貨物列車)를 위한 *본선(本線). 실제로는 여러 가지가 있으며, 화물운송 업무만을 수행하는 경우의 화물선, *여객 ·화물의 일반 영업을 하고 있는 구간에서 여객·화물열차를 각각 별도의 선로에서 운전을 하는 경우의 화물선이 있다. 또한 *구내측선(構內側線)에서 *화물적하선(貨物積下線)이나 화차용 유치선(留置線)을 간단히 화물선이라 하는 경우도 있다.
